Kia ora,

Many Kiwis would rather blissfully ignore politics and accept the superficial narrative. That “she’ll be right” approach has often been good enough, but isn’t this time around. If Kiwis don’t inform themselves now, they may wake up after the next election wondering what happened.

There is a massive ideological reboot underway. Its pervasive significance is being downplayed, but the new thinking is being pushed on this country every which way the Government can sell it.

If the private sector used the same tactics as the Government is to get their way on this, people would be going to prison. In contrast,  the Government can deceive and conceal with very little recourse for voters, except to vote them out next time.

The voters are the last line of defence.

Media silence and complicity is a large part of the problem. Indeed, rather than educate, they seem to think their role is to convince, and usually in line with the Government’s ideology. This is not surprising since the current Government is a huge source of funding for the media.
