New sexuality app for teens warrants X rating for many

A new “one-stop-shop” app for all sexuality related questions, aimed at 13 and up. The site blurs lines between sex ed and far left politics. ‘Men’ is only used in relation to rape and to help define the word ‘Gay’. Instead, terms like ‘person with a penis’ is used. “Marriage” and “abstinence” aren’t mentioned, but there are plenty of Māori words.

What are some of the issues with Electronic Monitoring?

Electronic Monitoring (aka EM) for both bail and sentencing of violent offenders has expanded significantly since 2017. Tinfoil can block the EM signal and gives offenders opportunities to re-offend undetected. Offenders have committed ramraids, robberies, and even murder while on EM. Victim advocate Ruth Money asks “If you can wrap a bit of tinfoil around it, what is the point?”

Government is feeling the squeeze of a low current account balance, comparable to the 2009 global financial crisis.

Does the NZ Herald even see what this cartoon is saying to Act and NZ First supporters?

The Herald cartoon represents the left wing minor parties as very gentle and appealing. TPM is a bird. Green Party is a rabbit. ACT is a rat and NZ First is a venomous snake. Why is the Herald insulting 20% of voters? Imagine the outrage if they portrayed TPM as a rat/snake?

“Conspiracy theories” are often just suspicions given too much credit

“Out there” beliefs are often called conspiracy theories. There is often no “conspiracy” whatsoever, just a number of like minded people. It can be zealots or people jumping to conclusions. Either “side” may even have a “need” for intrigue to liven up their lives. The final answer could be decades away. Judgement is key.
